Shared Practices
Following Jesus is not simply a matter of believing the right things...it is a way of life. At Threads we have identified the shared practices that define our understanding of the way of Jesus.
Story-Formed Community: hear & respond
We seek to be shaped by God's voice as we receive it through the story of Scripture, the story of creation (all we learn of God in the observable world), and each other's stories in the context of community.
Presence: recognize & honor
We seek to recognize God's presence in, with, and for each other. We seek to respond to God by creating space for authentic and empathetic relationships, both within and outside the church. We seek to be attentive to the presence, voice, and work of the Holy Spirit.
Abundance: trust & rest
We practice generous and joyful living from a position of abundance through our fully redeemed and freely forgiven identity in Christ.
Discipleship: connect & journey together
Together, we endeavor to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, humbly nurturing love and wisdom in the manner of Christ, while supporting and uplifting one another on this faith journey.
Extended Community: invite & embrace
We strive to be an open and welcoming community that actively clears the path to Jesus for those the church has often neglected, marginalized, and rejected.
