As Long as You Don’t Hurt Anyone

God’s truth is certain and even though there is no gray area, that’s where so many of us live today. We prefer to live by the concepts or facts we wish to be true, rather than those known to be true...the gray area. Join us as we learn to navigate the space between True and TRUE(sort of).

What Will Fill You?

The year of 2009 was filled with many things. What will fill us in 2010? Jesus stood up in a crowd and shouted out that same question. He wanted to see who was thirsty. Who would be the people in the crowd that would be filled with His living water? Jesus interprets a little known Old Testament prophecy and ritual in the Feast of Tabernacles. As water poured down the city streets of Jerusalem during the Water Pouring ritual, Jesus asks, “Are you thirsty for my Spirit?” Join us for an annual checkup. Is there living water running through your life, or have you become a stagnant pond?

Everlasting Father

We look at Jesus, our everlasting Father, through the lens of our earthly father, and for many of us, when we do that, and we look through that lens of our earthly father, we just may see a father who’s never satisfied. The words, “I love you,” and “I am proud of you,” maybe they were illusive to you as a child. Like a carrot on a stick, you just couldn’t get them, and your dad never said that, and somehow, you began to just, just to be perfect for dad, because you so coveted his acceptance and his affirmation, but it was never there. When we look at Jesus, our everlasting Father, through the lens of scripture, we are going to see that He is an everlasting Father who is compassionate. We are also going to see that He is an everlasting Father who cares. He cares. This God is speaking to you and me, and we must feel this, because He is not angry. He will never abuse you. Jesus will accept you fully.

Prince of Peace

How many of you have something in your life that you wish was different, something in your life that you wish was different. I know, for a lot of people, this is the best time of the year, and for others, this is a very heavy time of the year.
Jesus, who was born of a virgin, did not have our sin nature so that He could be the perfect sacrifice for our sins, so that He could be the innocent Lamb of God, who was slain for our sins on a cross, so that He could give His life, be raised again, so that us, even in our sin, could be underneath Him, the One who is in charge, who gives peace. It’s not our peace. It’s His peace. We can’t earn our way to be right with God. It’s only because we are under what Jesus did for us, and that alone. Outside of Him we have no promises. Inside of Him we have the peace that passes all understanding. We have the peace of the One who’s in charge.
Jesus gives me His peace because I’m with Him, not only inside, but also His peace because He carries peace wherever He goes. So if Jesus has peace, I’ve got His peace in every single way. I have a peace because I am with Him.

Mighty God

We often live powerless lives. Sure, we keep things somewhat under control, but we rarely experience powerful moments. Then we experience disappointment – cancer, marriage struggles, etc and we begin to wonder…God, where are you? In the birth of Christ, God reminds us that Jesus’ power is at work in you. You’ve got problems. You’re weary. You’re worn out. It’s coming towards the end of the year. Man, you’re just fried. The good news is, God gives strength and power to the weary. But Jesus’ coming also reminds us that His power is at work through me. If Jesus can radically change history with 12 ordinary people, imagine what Christ can do through the several hundred people of Threads.

Wonderful Counselor

I'm curious, where are you sick. Where do you hurt? Cause truthfully we're all sick at one point or another. Just because of sin in this world, we all battle with weaknesses and vulnerabilities and strongholds and dysfunctions. Where are you sick? Answer the question, where are you sick and remember the good news, there is a wonderful counselor, his name is Jesus, and he came for those who are sick. The first response we need is: we just learn to be brutally honest with the counselor. We need to be brutally honest with Jesus, the wonderful counselor, because truthfully so many of us are not. The second thing is we must learn to listen to the counselor's voice. To listen to what Jesus, the wonderful counselor will say to us. Because Jesus is speaking.

Jonah's Anger

God works miracles through those who obey, though often times our nature rebels against Him. Regardless of which path we choose-obedience or rebellion- God is the God of second chances. Few stories illustrate this principle more clearly than the story of Jonah. Join us as we delve into the story of one man and his journey towards surrender.
