It seems that the only way to build a reputation, become known as a somebody in our cyberculture is to have a blog. It doesn't matter if there is any substance to what you write. I recently had a friend who recently asked me to blog about him so that his book gets hype on the internet.
Hmmm...
For the last two months, I have been practicing a cyber silence of sorts. I haven't blogged. I needed to not blog. There have been others ways I have been attempting to practice stillness during these last two months.
Stilling ourselves so that we can hear God is becoming a critical discipline in our techno world. That solitude has been very needful for me.
I could have kept writing. We keep churning out the content, the T.V. blares in our homes, we are talking so that we don't have to be alone with the quiet, we tell complete strangers every detail of our life as long as someone will listen...
To be honest, that is why I struggle with hearing God's voice.
Here's to more times of stillness.
